It stands out as the only tool supported by scientific comparative studies involving real cases, demonstrating its credibility and reliability.

This tool facilitates comprehensive patient record management, enabling users to measure articulation angles and compile historical databases for each joint and movement type. The measurement process involves taking photographs of the joint and identifying them using three separate markers, all guided by medical literature recommendations to ensure reliable measurements (e.g., Dunlevy C. et al., "Procedural considerations for photographic-based joint angle measurements," Physiother. Res. Int. 2005; 10(4): 190-200).

Recent studies, with forthcoming publications, have employed Dr. Goniometer and have revealed measurement accuracy and reliability that are comparable to those of established professional tools, such as the Universal Goniometer and Isokinetic Tools Goniometer. Notably, the study titled "A new iPhone-based Goniometer (Dr. Goniometer): a Validation Study" reported simultaneous measurements on various patients using both professional tools and Dr. Goniometer, with results showcasing comparable error margins across both measurement methods.

Moreover, Dr. Goniometer offers additional capabilities through in-app purchases, including:

 <li>Backup of all data on a computer for safekeeping.</li>

 <li>Exporting measurements to an Excel file via iTunes File Sharing by connecting an iPhone to a PC through a USB cable.</li>

No additional software is required for these features; they can be accessed using any standard Internet browser across various operating systems, including Microsoft and Apple platforms. To connect Dr. Goniometer with a computer, it is essential for both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network. Alternatively, if Wi-Fi is unavailable, connection settings can utilize the mobile network on the iPhone while the PC accesses the Internet.

Dr. Goniometer guarantees ongoing availability of measurement tools and access to patient databases. New measurements can be conducted during each patient visit, ensuring that completed measurements are automatically stored on the iPhone or PC used, allowing for effortless retrieval as needed.
